Bonterra Organic Chardonnay

The fruit for this Chardonnay was harvested from select blocks at our Regenerative Organic Certified estate sites, Chalfont and Ledford. The grapes were de-stemmed and pressed before a long, cool fermentation in a mix of stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. The stainless steel vessels preserved the bright varietal character of the grapes, while malolactic fermentation softened the mouthfeel, giving the wine a creamy texture. This Chardonnay was aged for six months in 100 percent American oak barrels—40 percent of which were new—with a medium to medium+ toast level, lending complex barrel notes to the finished wine.
